Bel-Air is getting another go at Peacock. The streamer announced Friday that the series has been renewed for Season 3.

Fox is developing Billionaire Class, a one-hour drama from writer Eric Haywood (Law & Order: Organized Crime, Manifest), Malcolm Spellman and Nichelle Tramble Spellman’s The 51 and Fox Entertainment.

HBO is developing King Rex, a limited series with Henry Winkler attached to star and his son, Max, directing the pilot. Joining them are Malcolm Spellman and Nichelle Tramble Spellman, who have a first-look deal with HBO and will exec produce through their The 51 banner.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier creator Malcolm Spellman has partnered with Chromatic Black on the Ida B. Wells Fund, a scholarship of $100k to be invested in 10 Black creatives (at $10k each) to produce independent film and documentary projects.

In a very competitive situation, Peacock has landed Bel-Air with a two-season order. The hourlong series, based on Morgan Cooper’s popular fan film that reenvisions the 1990s Will Smith sitcom The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air,as a drama, hails from Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith’s Westbrook Studios and Universal Television. Will Smith just announced the deal online in a video that captures him breaking the news to Morgan Cooper and the adaptation’s co-writer Chris Collins.

Apple continues to hand out second-season pickups to its crop of original scripted series. The latest to get a Season 2 renewal is drama Truth Be Told, starring and executive produced by Octavia Spencer. The series is created by Nichelle Tramble Spellman and is produced by Hello Sunshine, Chernin Entertainment and Endeavor Content.
